Action Item Subject: Due: 02/10/2023 - Request for Recommendations for 2023 Continued Stabilized Standards
Item Number: #0092

Description
This email is a call for recommendation for the continued stabilization of the applicable INCITS standards that were stabilized 10 years ago.

Members are requested to review the attached information to provide their input by the action item due date. Recommendations and comments should be sent to the designated TC person (steve.wilson@xxxxxxxxxxxx) and to the TC mailing list (fibre_channel@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx).

The standards below were stabilized in 2013. The TC is being asked to determine if the standards should continue the stabilized status for another 10-year cycle or if other action should be taken. If other action is recommended, the rationale for such action shall be included. The proposed TC recommendation for each standard will be established by the majority of responses received to this call.

For information: The INCITS Organization, Policies and Procedures state the process for stabilized standards. Section 6.2.6 (2nd to last paragraph) outlines the required 10-year review, as follows:

An American National Standard maintained under the stabilized maintenance option shall be subject to further review of such status on a 10-year cycle. If it is determined in connection with this review that the standard should continue to be maintained under the stabilized maintenance option and does not require revision or withdrawal, then the INCITS Secretariat shall inform ANSI, which will place an announcement in the ANSI Standards Action publication.

This topic will be added to the agenda of an upcoming meeting for vote.
