The subject-referenced DIS is enclosed for action and information as indicated. This document is distributed for ISO/IEC JTC 1 final letter ballot under the FAST-TRACK PROCEDURE. The U.S. TAG is required to recommend a vote for the National Body.
ACTION #1 - Recommendation for INCITS Executive Board
The committee is to coordinate and develop the U.S. recommended position to INCITS EB for approval for submission to ISO/IEC JTC 1. The position must be submitted in a format consistent with the guidelines specified by the JTC 1 Supplement.
The position options are:
• Approval
of the technical content of the DTR as presented;
• Approval of the DTR with general, editorial or technical comments;
• Disapproval
of the DTR for technical reasons to be stated, it may indicate that
acceptance
of specified technical modifications will change its negative vote
to one of approval;
• Abstention.
[Note:
An affirmative vote shall not be cast which is conditional on the acceptance
of modifications.]
Any comments developed in
support of the U.S. position should be presented in the enclosed ISO
Comments Template document.
In preparation for submitting the proposed U.S. National Body position for the DTR ballot, the committee should conduct a 30-day letter ballot or roll call vote.
IMPORTANT

committee has an “always adopt” policy concerning

committee shall notify the INCITS Secretariat within 90 days and
present reasons why adoption of a particular document
should not occur. See INCITS RD-1, Section 5.6 INCITS
Policy on the National Adoption of ISO/IEC JTC 1 and ISO Standards.
